As Above, So Below
“As Above, So Below” is a book about the privilege of heartbreak, the romance of nature, and the peace of the present moment. It is a collection of poems and illustrations that I have collated from my past 7 years of notebooks and sketchbooks.
R&R has always been a multimedia art project to push some of my creative outlets into the world. Most of what I make, I have never ever intended to have an audience. Writing poetry and drawing has always been a way for me to process my emotions effectively and privately. Some are still only for me. These though, I wanted to share, because it was the scariest thing I could think of to do this year - and I’ve found that’s often the most rewarding thing I can do.
And with the love you’ve all given me in Rizla & Ritalin’s first year, I decided to do it.
It’s already crazy to hold them in my hands, and it’s gonna be crazier to see them in yours. So please, come read, come look. No matter what you think of it, I’ve already fallen in love with the journey of creating this, so thank you. Thank you to everyone who has ever pushed me out of my comfort zone. You’ve shown me a world full of beauty that I never thought was possible.
This will likely be the only run I make, once they're gone, they're gone.
