Where’s All The Clothing?

Hello again. It’s me. Been a while as it usually is. If you haven’t got used to the on again, off again nature of this business, you must be very new here; BUT I PROMISE YOU THIS IS NOT A GOODBYE!

I have a new full time job! A full career pivot, gardening to healthcare! I don’t think I have ever been happier, however, I have increasingly less and less free time to dedicate to R&R. I used to finish work at whatever time I made it through the list of customers I had to visit that day, and I was very efficient so would come home around 2pm or 3pm and work on R&R sometimes until 8pm or 9pm, have dinner and go to bed. I now work 12 hour shifts from 8am to 8pm with an hours commute either side. Still the most worthwhile change I have ever made. I went from selling pesticides to pensioners to caring for people having lung cancers removed. I feel I am aligning with my highest wants and purposes in life.

Rizla & Ritalin is an area of my life I am so far from being done with. I feel like we’re just starting to really cook.

That does mean though that to carry on, it needs to come with some changes, as frankly, having such a long lead time to ship orders is not how I wish this business to be run. The way I work the clothing right now is you place an order - I would then order the blank clothing, wait for it to arrive and then head over to the workshop to hand print the designs and then ship them out from the workshop. This is not a workshop I own and is a space I share with another business. This is a time consuming process, and if I’m unable to get to the workshop during my increasingly limited free time, it can delay orders for another week or more.

So what am I going to do about it?

Clothing will no longer be made to order. When I am able to go out and print clothing I will make a batch of items and upload them to the store as a limited quantity - once they’re gone they’re gone! I’ll cycle through some old favourites and some new stuff too! I believe that doing clothing this way will bring back an excitement and joy to this side of the business that I have been missing for a while.

SEIZING THE MEANS OF SHIPMENT!

Amongst these changes I will also be acquiring a label printer and packaging outside of the workshop at home which means that gloves/books/stickers will be shipped IMMEDIATELY and not left until I am next in the workshop, HOORAY!

Thanks for reading if you made it this far - I hope you understand and I hope that the R&R community, old and new alike are going to appreciate and benefit from these changes with me.

One love,

Ryan xoxo
